Your Grandmother's Oven

PUUUUUUURRFECT beach weather today which is why I went and which is why my skin aches right now seeing as I went up quite a couple of shades. (What color would burnt cookie dough be?) I snorkeled, I sun-bathed, I picked up more shells than I know what to do with - I'm thinking a wind-chime - and I showed off my newly learned skills at diving to the ocean floor. *Granted that's not too deep at a regular beach*
I can't help but love the water. The smell of it, the taste, the warm sand under your toes, the way your hair is silky smooth once you wash it at home, and oddly, the fact that even though everyone is sweating profusely, the match up of a million different sunblocks protects innocent noses from bad BO. It's the feeling that you're part of something huge once you get in the water. You're sharing this space with everything from Titanic ruins to the lost city of Atlantis. The ocean has a life, a spirit - it can take you in it's arms and cradle you on it's waves or crash you with unmeasured force.
