Summer of my Discontent

With the summer almost gone and a new school year rolling around I'm left to review my "vacation" and kick myself in the bum for not having done more. I've spent basically every day of the week working and have nothing to show for it. Went to an amusement park so early-on in the break that I don't even remember it and have gone out so many times I can count them on one hand. Now that I got that complaining bit out of my system I can evaluate the good. Since I have a laid-back job I was able to watch numerous documentaries, movies and TV shows on my computer. This comes with mixed feeling of guilt because I should've read more. (maybe it's not too late?) Of course not, in fact I'm going to make that a new school-year resolution: to read more. At least until school starts and them I'm forced to read the rubbish that professors assign, all self-centered in their fields of expertise and as such promoting only narrow-minded texts to support the various reasons why Sociology, Anthropology, French, etc is the best topic on Earth and you should major in it.
I went to some social gatherings: a friend's birthday in the park, a wedding, etc. but all in all they were boring scenarios with uninteresting people and cheap beer. Why aren't there ever any awesome parties in real life? Think the kids in MetroStation's video for "Control" (a bouncyhouse at night people! that spells fun!)
The more horrifying thing is the to-do list I had so excitedly made right before the Spring semester ended. I was going to go record shopping, vintage shopping in the awesome thrift store a couple of towns up, go in search of a river a friend had found on a drunken road trip, work on my portfolio - I did none of those things. Aside from buying a 40-year old mink stole on goodwillshopping.com and making the cute picture shown in my Profile I literally touched nothing on that list.
The sense of failure is overwhelming. Can one hope to accomplish something in three weeks left of summer? If not at the very least I hope Fall holds more interesting days for me.

In other news: my sunburn is coming along.....painfully.
And I have my first follower! Ashley! Darling girl thank you, I am truly honored. And I love your layout - looks familiar ;)
