ahhhh the bliss of owning a chunk of our modern consumerist culture - aka - Apple. Of course I wouldn't know what that's like just yet because after stalking my account online waiting until the day I'd be eligible for an upgrade and excitedly journeying into the local At&t store, I was rudely awoken to the reality that there was a 3 week wait for my dream phone. Still, with only the store one to look at and after painfully chalking-up $319 for it (not to mention the $69 Apple Protection Plan that you'd be crazy not to get) I came home with hope in my heart and the slightly sad realization that I'll be compulsively checking the shipping status online for the dreaded 15 to 20 business days that lay before me.
While the salesman tried to steal my love away for a new Samsung Captivate, I stayed true to the iPhone 4. Even with it's initial troublesome talk of retarded antenna design and the then surprising press conference that came with a free case, I was not swayed. I briefly thought of getting the iPhone 3G S but even THAT was in back order. I opted for the newer version not because I'm an early adapter per-say (although I am as far as my income will let me) but because of the features that Apple obviously got right in this one.
The display is AMAZING!!! (can I say that in any other way?) After personally comparing the 3G and the 4 it's clear that the new optics are, well, clearer.
The design itself is orgasmic to the eyes, no longer looking like a clunky plastic iPod touch, the iPhone 4 is sophisticated. Like the 3G was a younger iPhone, in Middle School with braces and tacky plastic necklaces (which I owned) and now it's blossomed into a hot tamale of a person ready to take on Wall Street. An advertising teacher I had this last semester told us that Blackberry had become the new college-age phone because it's design was serious, something one couldn't just cover in rhinestones, and that older folks - say in business environments- were having to hide their iPhone's in their pockets like kids hiding joints in High School. A main factor in this sad fact?- the design. The fact that the fabulous fantastic plastic iPhone looked like something their child should have but with the brain of something they desired. The iPhone 4 I think has completely broken down that barrier and once again become "the best thing since..."
Phew! long post. Cookies anyone?

The Beginning
After lots of thinking last night I decided it was time to turn a page in my young and modest life. A good step to doing this I thought was to start a blog since words and pictures have always been an easier thing for me to manage than spoken words. I have a lot to learn as of yet from this great community so bear with my beginners' mistakes.
It's to my understanding that people usually use this first entry to introduce themselves but I frankly have no idea what to say so I'll leave it to the reader to decipher my person from following posts-I give a lot of myself away in writing. I guess the basics would be that I am a 20 year old female college student in a famous city.
More soon :)
